JOB DESCRIPTION
TITLE: Transportation/BusDriver
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Transporting students
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be at least 21 years old
- Good Health ( required physical examination annually)
- Valid SC Driver's License
- Valid School Bus Driver's License
- No more than four(4) points on license
- No criminal record
- Demonstrated aptitude for successful completetion of the performance responsiblities below.
REPORTS TO: Transportation Supervisor
Job Goal:
To provide safe and efficient transportation so that students may enjoy the fullest possible advantage from the district's curriculum and extracurricular program.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Obeys all traffic laws.
- Observes all mandatory safety regulations for school buses.
- Maintains discipline when students are on the bus.
- Reports undisciplined students to the proper persons.
- Keeps assigned bus clean.
- Keeps to assigned schedule and route.
- Checks bus before each operation for mechanical defects.
- Notifies the appropriate authorities in case of mechanical failure or lateness.
- Discharges students only at authorized stops.
- Exercises responsible leadership when on out-of-district school trips.
- Transports only authorized students.
- Reports accidents and completes required reports.
- Enforces regulations against smoking, eating, and drinking on the bus.
- Reports to supervisor when driver's liciense points exceed four (4).
- Prepares route descriptions.
- Obeys all school and district rules and regulations.
- Other duties as requested.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 190 Day Contract

Performance on this job will be evaluated in accordance with the School Board policy and administrative regulations on evaluation of non-certified personnel.
